The Pacific Sea Nettle is the most iconic jellyfish by far. It's vibrant orange coloration and frilly, trailing tentacles have landed it in nearly every public aquarium across the globe.
These Jellyfish are found along the American and Canadian Pacific Coast, and their populations seem to correlate with El Niño weather patterns. Because of this, Pacific Sea Nettles may disappear for entire years at a time.
These Sea Nettles are fairly easy to care for, and would be considered moderate level. Their major special requirement is that they are coldwater, and prefer to be held at 55-65 °F. Because they are coldwater, their metabolism is slower than warmer species, which will equate to longer lived jellyfish. It's possible these sea nettles can live well past 4 years in captivity.
We're proud to be the only company in North America to captive breed Pacific Sea Nettles for sale to the public!
