A Jellyfish Warehouse original: These jellies have been cultured in public aquariums for a few years but have never been offered for sale. We're proud to be the first to bring you these beautiful jellies as 100% aquaucultured specimens.
Seasonal Species: Fried Egg Jellies are only born once a year in the summer. We get requests all year for this lovely species, but we can only have them once. When this batch is out of stock, they'll be gone until July of 2019!
The Fried Egg Jellyfish is truly one of the most exotic jellies out there. They hail from the Mediterranean sea, especially Greece. Because of this, they are sometimes called Mediterranean Jellies. With a bright yellow bell and vibrant blue and purple arms underneath, these jellies are impossible to miss.
They enjoy tropical water in the range of 77-82° F. They also prefer a slightly higher salinity of 1.025 SG or 34 PPT. In nature, they grow algae to provide supplemental food. In captivity, we have found that this isn't necessary, and there's no difference in color or appearance. We raise them with just ambient lighting. They're resilient and easy jellyfish to keep, but they do require small food items like live or frozen baby brine shrimp. Live/frozen rotifers can also be fed.
Friendly by nature, Fried Egg Jellies can be kept with a wide variety of other jellyfish including: Upside Down Jellyfish, Lagoon Jellyfish, and Blubber Jellyfish.
